BPE was created in 1987 in Novellara, a small Gonzaga city located at the center of the Lombardy plain just a few kilometers from Reggio Emilia and easily accessed from highway A1 (Milan-Bologna) and A22 (Modena-Brennero).

Initial ideas, however, date back to the early 80's when the desire to apply the advantages of electronics onto mechanical and hydraulic systems pushed us to experiment with sensors and electronic cards on cranes, aerial platforms, loaders, crane trucks.

BPE is regristered in the MIUR roll, the University anr research ministry.

So BPE is completely comparable to an institute of research, which can be ordered an innovative project to.This membership is to give an active contribution to technological innovation, in order to reach the best efficiency and productivity.

BPE is also regristered in the CiA roll, the CAN in Automation institute.

CAN in Automation (CiA) is the international users’ and manufacturers’ organization that develops and supports CAN-based higher-layer protocols. CiA represent the members in national and international standardization committees, such as ISO and IEC. CiA members develop specifications that are then published as CiA standards. These specifications cover physical and application layer definitions as well as device profile descriptions.
